Our client contacted us regarding some foundation work for a rear single storey extension to a Costa Coffee in Whitchurch. Firstly, we arranged to visit site to discuss the works with the client. After assessing the area, we agreed a piling scheme foundation would best suit this project and confirmed a price for the works with the client. We booked the works to start the following week.
Firstly, we began by excavating the footings for the new extension. We installed a new drainage system and our piling scheme as per our structural engineers design (calculations). Once completed, we arranged for the local building inspector to visit site and assess the drainage and piling works. He was happy and passed the works, which allowed us to begin the concreting works the following morning.
Overall, it took a total of two working weeks to complete the works, including all excavation, drainage, piling and concreting works. On completion, we provided our client with copies of the structural engineers design (calculations) and our piling log detailing the depths of each pile.
In conclusion, our client was pleased with the high standard and efficiency of our works. They were looking forward to the building work starting on the new extension to the Costa Coffee.
